About Us

OUR MISSION

KinderAid helps children thrive by empowering their families with the tools, resources, and opportunities they need for lasting change.

Mission statement: "Helping children. Strengthening families. Shaping tomorrow."

OUR STORY

KinderAid was born from a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves the chance to grow, learn, and dream.

Our founder, Brian Tye, grew up in Mexico, where nearly half of the population lives in poverty. He was fortunate to have a safe and happy childhood where his basic needs were met — but he never forgot the children who weren’t as lucky. That contrast inspired the question: Why me? What makes me so different?

With that realization, KinderAid was created to give children everywhere the same opportunities for nourishment, education, and dignity that Brian himself enjoyed. What began as a personal vision has grown into a nonprofit dedicated to empowering families so children can thrive for generations to come.

CORE VALUES & BELIEFS

KinderAid is a small nonprofit with a big heart. We believe that when we are able to act, we have a moral responsibility to do so. Every child deserves access to food, clothing, education, and the chance to live with dignity.

By helping to provide these essentials, we can begin to close the gap for children living in hardship. Each of us can make a difference — and together, we can create lasting change.

Our Founder and Executive Director, Brian, leads by example. He accepts only $1 per year as his salary, ensuring that every possible resource goes directly to helping children around the world.

  1. Children First – Every decision begins with the well-being of children.

  2. Family Empowerment – Strong families create strong futures for kids.

  3. Dignity – We honor every child and parent with compassion and respect.

  4. Sustainability – Our focus is on long-term solutions, not short-term fixes.

  5. Transparency – Donors see where every dollar goes and the stories it creates.

WHAT WE DO

KinderAid addresses both the immediate needs of children and the long-term stability of their families through four core programs:

🌱 The Seed Program – Small business microgrants and mentorship to help families start or grow businesses like fruit stands, tailoring, or food carts. Stable income means children eat well, stay in school, and dream bigger.

🍎 Nourish Program – Food baskets and nutrition support for families, along with small home garden projects that create lasting food security.

📚 Bright Futures – School supplies, uniforms, and educational support for children, plus literacy and vocational training for parents.

Play & Grow – Soccer balls, bicycles, and safe play opportunities that restore childhood joy, build confidence, and improve well-being.

IMPACT IN ACTION

Every donation creates real, measurable change. Families launch small businesses. Children receive daily meals. Students stay in school with the supplies they need.

From food baskets to fruit stands, your gift directly transforms lives — giving children the chance to grow up healthy, educated, and full of hope.

WHY KINDERAID?

Unlike large charities where donations can feel distant, KinderAid is small, personal, and transparent. We focus on helping children by empowering their families, ensuring lasting change instead of one-time aid. Every gift directly supports food, education, and opportunities for kids — and you’ll see the stories and smiles your generosity makes possible.

A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER

“Growing up in Mexico, where nearly half of the population lives in poverty, I saw firsthand how unequal life can be. I was fortunate to have a happy childhood where my basic needs were met — but I never forgot the children who weren’t as lucky.

That contrast made me ask myself: Why me? What makes me so different?

It was this realization that led me to create KinderAid. My dream is simple: to give children everywhere the same opportunity for safety, nourishment, and education that I had growing up. With your help, we can make that dream a reality.”
